MURALS

Blue Ridge Respite, 2022

In November of 2022 I completed a fully immersive mural commissioned by Auroraflow in Durham, NC.

This mural was inspired by things that help me feel grounded and for me that’s being outdoors, specifically on camping trips with my partner. We live in North Carolina, and while driving to our campsites we are always met with the Blue Ridge Mountain skyline view no matter where we’re headed! It’s such a beautiful reminder of where we are and what the mountains bring us.

Auroraflow is a massage and wellness center that focuses on providing a safe space for historically marginalized groups, particularly people of color and those in the LGBTQIA+ community to receive wellness experiences which allow you to fully immerse yourself in the moment. Each massage, bodywork, and skincare treatment is designed to support the needs of your mind, body, and soul in a way that is uniquely your own.

welcome to Black Main street

is the the first Raleigh Arts’ ArtBeats installation of 2021. The murals are inspired by Raleigh’s Black Main Street and honor the historically Black commercial district on Hargett Street and aim to inform the public about the street’s historical importance.

From ~1910-1960, E. Hargett St. (from Fayetteville St. to Moore Square) was filled with Black owned or operated businesses — including barbershops, pharmacies, drug stores, retailers + the offices of lawyers and doctors. However, many of these businesses no longer exist. Each mural highlights a former Black Main Street business and some of its unique history.
